November 8 Print Workshop with Hannah Bennett

Time: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Cost: $110 ($100 for members)

Course Description:
During this full-day workshop participants will sample a variety of printmaking tools, materials and techniques.  Starting with a tutorial on how to set-up and use the SDAG’s small etching press, printmaker Hannah Bennett will lead the group through creating mylar drypoints in the morning and collagraphs and lino cuts in the afternoon.  Participants will be encouraged to make a small suite of prints which can be used for holiday card-making.   Preparing and registering printing paper, inking various plates and properly editioning your work will all be covered.  Participants are encouraged to bring along a sketchbook with some images ready to work with such as drawings, magazine cut-outs, sketches or photos.

Supplies:
There will be a supply package at a cost of $20.
Please bring a notebook and pencil.

Bio:
Hannah Bennett is a practicing printmaker and painter from Langley, BC.  She graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley from 2011 and is an associate member of Malaspina Printmakers and Dundarave Print Workshop.  She also programs and instructs at the Burnaby Art Gallery and is an assistant technician at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Surrey.  Feel free to contact her at hanben88@gmail.com
