Outreach School Program
Coastal Waters outreach school program – a fun Grade 7 class at North Otter Elementary. They really got into it! (One of three outreach school programs I designed and taught last year.)
They started with learning about a coastal animal (or plant – bull kelp!), jotting down one of the interesting facts about the animal, drawing it (or tracing the line drawing if they preferred) and then adding collaged tissue paper over top.
They then created a printing plate by cutting up and gluing down old bicycle tire inner-tubes onto cardboard backings (thanks Theresa and Shawn!) and then finished the artwork by printing on top of their collaged drawing. Bam! They looked great and each one was really different.
